Yoga can improve mental health in general and may help relieve symptoms of mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD),  post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and schizophrenia.

Aside from its benefits for your mental health, it’s a great way to stretch and strengthen your muscles.

UAEX has developed a great resource called Yoga for Kids by Lisa Washburn, Health Specialist. The routines outlined in the curriculum and DVD provide simple exercises that can be performed in a variety of settings, including classrooms, camps, and at home. The program is designed  with youth in mind but can also be practiced by adults. Download the fact sheet here.

Show us how you did on #FitnessFriday: post a post-yoga selfie with #4uaexmind4body and let us know how it made you feel. Namaste!
