How Extension Impacts Arkansas
Do you know what the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service does in your county?
Many people are aware of the services Extension provides to the agriculture community
in Arkansas, but we also provide expertise in other parts of your life such as nutrition, youth development, and economic development.
In all 75 counties in Arkansas, we have agents, volunteers (such as Master Gardeners and EHC), and resources to help you improve your quality
of life.

County Demonstrations Bring Research Home
Demonstrations are the heart of our outreach – working with producers and the public
under real-world conditions. These demos are the proving ground for land grant research
and an engine for increased productivity.
An example of a large scale demonstration can be found at our Discovery Farms located in several Arkansas counties where ongoing research and demonstration of
best practices are conducted via cooperation with local producers.
Free Consultations Offer Citizens Face-To-Face Help
Getting access to one of the largest research-based information networks in the state
is as close as a stop by your county extension office or catching your agent at the
grocery store.
You can contact your county agent to request face-to-face help with information regarding gardening, livestock, food preservation, voter education, and more.
Landowner Visits Offer Local Advice
Sometimes a house or farm call is needed to solve those deeper riddles of plant or
livestock production. Agent advice can be customized for you on the spot. Both 4-H
and agriculture agents are available to visit your land and assist with livestock
or property/crop questions.
