Garden to Pantry

Garden to Pantry

By preserving vegetables and fruits that are not consumed during the growing season, a family can build up the home food pantry and enjoy “home-grown” produce all year long! Or perhaps you want to help the community by giving extra produce to local food pantries. Either way, gardening can be a win/win for everyone!

Arkansas Foods

At the peak of the season, we get the ripest, freshest, and highest quality foods when they are produced in-state, which means more vitamins and minerals, better taste, and overall quality. Many vegetables and fruits sold out of season or out-of-state have been picked prior to ripening so they'll be ready for sale when they hit the store shelves. Here's how you can find locally grown produce and choose Arkansas foods wisely.

Cooking Schools in Arkansas

Cooking Schools

Cooking at home is one way to plan and keep track of calories, portion sizes, and nutrients. Since you can see the ingredients, you know EXACTLY what is in each serving you eat—a great advantage to cooking your own food—nothing is HIDDEN. Unfortunately, many people avoid cooking at home either because they feel that their cooking skills aren't up to par, don't have the time, or prefer the taste and quality of meals eaten out. This doesn't have to be the case! If you are interested in participating in one of our many cooking schools, contact your local county Extension Agent.
