Violas

QuestionCan you please tell me the name of the little pansy-like flowers, light-blue...there's a patch of them planted at the McDonald's drive-thru?

 Answer

I would suspect they are violas, which have a smaller but similar bloom than a pansy. I often think we do better with violas than we do pansies, since they don’t get as leggy with warm weather, like pansies do.  Both have done fairly well in our mild winter.
