Target Applicators, Inc. is located in Newhope and has been in business since 1994. The business offers landscaping and ground maintenance services including commercial mowing services, tree care/removal, stump grinding, vegetation management, herbicide application, chain sawing, and high production fertilization for large paper companies.
Owner Julie Ward and her husband took over the business in 2020 upon the passing of Julie’s mother. Under her mother's ownership, Target Applicators was classified as an "Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business." With Ward currently being majority owner, the company was able to keep that designation. Ward plans to continue the business along with her two employees in honor of her mother.
Target Applicators has been a Arkansas PTAC client since 2007, when the company found us through an internet search when looking for government contracting bid opportunities.
The company received several government contracts when owned by Ward's mother. This May, the company received its first government contract under Ward's leadership. The contract for just over $110,000 was awarded by Department of Defense (DOD) and will entail lawn maintenance and beautification for DeQueen Lake in Sevier County.
PTAC counselor Tim Hicks is Target Applicators’ designated counselor.
“Tim has helped us keep our System for Award Management (SAM) and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) accurate and up to date. He has also been wonderful in helping us keep an eye out for bids so that we didn’t miss any that we might be eligible for,” Ward said.
She was excited to have won the first government contract since taking over the business. Arkansas PTAC is also excited for her. We congratulate Ward on business ownership and receiving the award.
