Fact sheet Available for Upcoming Marion County Sales Tax Election

by Kristin Higgins - October 3, 2025

cover of Marion County 2025 sales tax election fact sheetVoters in Marion County have a special election in November.

The Public Policy Center at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture partnered with the Marion County Extension Office to produce a fact sheet explaining the countywide ballot issue.

Voters will decide whether to approve:

  • A permanent 0.5% sales and use tax to be used for jail and law enforcement purposes.

If voters approve this measure, Marion County’s sales tax rate would remain the same as the current rate of 1.75% because an existing temporary 0.5% sales tax previously approved by voters is set to expire next year.
