Fact Sheet Available for Perry County Voters

Voters in Perry County will have a local ballot measure to decide when they vote in the Nov. 3 general election.

The Public Policy Center at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture partnered with the Perry County Extension Office to produce a fact sheet explaining the countywide ballot issue. 

Voters will decide:

• A permanent 0.5% countywide sales and use tax dedicated to providing emergency services in the county.

If voters approve the local sales tax measure, county officials said they would use the tax revenues to pay for emergency services in the county, such as contracting for additional ambulance service. 

The tax would increase the county's sales tax rate from 2.25% to 2.75% starting Jan. 1, 2021 if approved by voters.

Voting is already underway for people casting their votes via absentee ballots, and early voting starts Oct. 19. at 116
N. Pine St. in Perryville. Perry County voters can check their voter status or find out where they’re supposed to vote on Election Day by calling the Perry County Clerk’s Office at 501-889-5126. You can also check your voter registration status online at www.voterview.ar-nova.org

People who live in Perry County and are registered to vote are eligible to vote in this election.
