Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council Blog
Welcome to the AEHC Blog
Welcome to the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council's blog.
This is an opportunity to provide a direct link between the state organization and our members, as well as friends, Extension staff, and folks who have an interest in what we are doing.
As the blogger, I will try to keep posts relevant and up-to-date, but please remember that this is a new experience for me. I spent 35 years working for a print publication, but except for occasional postings on Facebook and emails, I have little experience with this medium. The one major difference I see is that massive amounts of information can be disseminated to the world in record time via this medium.
I will start with words and still photography before branching out into videos. We'll see how that goes.
The inaugural blogs will be an introduction to Dr. Laura Hendrix, the liaison between the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and the state Extension Homemakers Council. She succeeds Betty Oliver, longtime friend and supporter who died earlier this year.
There will also be information about the memorial project for Betty, the upcoming state meeting and the National Volunteer Outreach Network conference set for Arkansas in 2019.
Tell us about your events
I hope that you will share information about events sponsored by local clubs and councils that are open to the general public that can be included on the events calendar on this website. And I am sure that other things will come along as we proceed.
I hope that Extension Homemakers will take advantage of this blog and the website as a way to keep themselves informed about what's going on in our organization.
