Memorial for Betty Oliver

On March 8, drapes dedicated to the memory of the late Betty Oliver will be unveiled at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center at Ferndale.

The Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council is honoring the late Betty Oliver by providing the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center at Ferndale with new drapes for the area that separates the dining hall from the adjacent meeting room The cost was $4,200.

The 4-H center held a special spot in Betty's heart providing special opportunities for young people in Arkansas. A plaque will be provided to hang near the drapes with the names of contributors to the project.

Having served more than 57 years, at the time of her death, she was the longest tenured employee in the University of Arkansas System. She was the liaison between the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council and University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service.

These drapes will be unveiled and dedicated on March 8, during the State Council's Educational Workshop at Ferndale.
