Farmers can use USDA farm ownership microloans to buy and improve property. These microloans are especially helpful to beginning or underserved farmers, U.S. veterans looking for a career in farming, and those who have small and mid-sized farming operations. Microloans have helped farmers and ranchers with operating costs, such as feed, fertilizer, tools, fencing, equipment, and living expenses since 2013.

Participants can receive up to $40,000 in reimbursement for implementing soil health practices in accordance with an approved three-year conservation plan. Eligibility is open to producers across the state regardless of operation size.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing $1 billion in Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers (ASCF) Program assistance for specialty crops and sugar, commodities not covered through the previously announced Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) program. These one-time bridge payments will help address market disruptions, elevated input costs, persistent inflation, and market losses from foreign competitors engaging in unfair trade practices that impede exports. Specialty crop producers have until March 13, 2026, to report 2025 acres to USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA).

The program offers $25 million in matching grants for value-added activities, including planning grants up to $50,000 and working capital grants up to $200,000. Eligible applicants include agricultural producers, agricultural producer groups, farmer- or rancher-cooperatives, and majority-controlled producer-based business ventures.

Offered through the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, it can cover the costs of attending a Noble course and even help with hotel expenses.
