Arkansas APEX Accelerator Success Story: Xtreme Clean Janitorial and Cleaning Services, LLC

Xtreme Clean Janitorial and Cleaning Services, LLC is a Little Rock-based minority woman-owned business comprised of owner Keytia Long and her husband. Xtreme Clean is a full-service commercial and residential janitorial and cleaning business servicing central Arkansas with cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting services.

Long started Xtreme Clean after losing the job she had during the pandemic in 20202. She quickly realized how much she did not know about running a business and turned to the internet for free, local resources to help her get started. During that search, she discovered Arkansas APEX Accelerator (Arkansas PTAC at the time) and became a client.

She has worked with Procurement Counselor Tim Hicks to obtain her woman-owned small business (WOSB) certification, familiarize herself with small business resource organizations, and learn how to bid on government contracts. Xtreme Clean recently won a one-year contract with the City of Little Rock to clean three buildings on the Solid Waste Compound.

Fun fact about Long: she attended and graduated from the City of Little Rock’s BUILD Academy and won a pitch contest while part of the Academy. Her business is trained and certified in bloodborne pathogens, infection prevention, sanitizing, and disinfecting. She plans to obtain her Biohazard certification to expand her opportunities.

When asked about Arkansas APEX Accelerator, Long credited Hicks' expertise.

"Oh my gosh, Tim helped us with everything from the technical part, resources, advising, and listening. He has been a blessing. I feel as though he went above and beyond for us. He was instrumental and encouraging," Long said.
