“We welcome Gov. Hutchinson's powerful statement of support made at the annual convention of the Arkansas Farm Bureau for a permanent increase in our budget. We appreciate his recognition of the importance of agriculture in the state's economy and the role of our research and Extension programs in promoting the industry's competitiveness in both domestic and global marketplaces. On behalf of the many farmers and ranchers, agribusinesses, families and communities that use our programs and the more than 130,000 youth that participate in our 4-H enrichment experiences, we wish to express our gratitude to Gov. Hutchinson for his support. This funding will truly assist the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture in fulfilling its mission to strengthen agriculture, communities, and families by connecting trusted research to the adoption of best practices.”
