Online Resources for FCS and 4-H

Learn all about the resources available online from your FCS and 4-H agents

During this time when most of us are staying home to protect ourselves and others, you might want something to do or a way to learn from experts who use research-based information. The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service can help you out! Many of the 4-H and Family and Consumer Science Agents across the state are using this time when we are telecommuting to develop online learning environments. The FCS agents have developed a Facebook page At Home with UAEX to provide these learning experiences. You will find many topics including Living Well with Diabetes, Family Relationships, Financial Management, Nutrition and Healthy Living, Recipes, and Physical Activity. Like and follow the page to receive new ideas daily from wherever you are. Here’s a hint of what’s already up and what’s coming: 

  • Getting Our Hearts Right – recorded lessons about learning to experience a change of heart.  Publication available by calling 501-268-5394, emailing kcullum@uada.edu or download. 

  • Living Well with Diabetes – 4 lessons about living with type 2 diabetes including glucose control, nutrition, meal planning, etc.

White County 4-H has a Facebook page that offers at home experiments or activities for youth to take part in.  Most activities can be done with items found lying around the house.  In addition, the White County 4-H Horse club has a page that will be updated regularly.
