The Traveling Miss Co 4-H Band Cooler!

OSCEOLA, Ark. –

As the school year swings back in session, what are the things you think of at back-to-school time? Football anyone? And with Friday Night Football, comes the wonderful sound of our area district schools bands playing their hearts out for their team! What is a football game without a band?

A Mississippi County 4-H Community Club project was started last year with the Miss Co 4-H Band Cooler.

The pilot year went so well that club members are eager to do it again this year! The Traveling Miss Co 4-H Band Cooler travels the county visiting each school for 2 home games each, providing drinks specifically to the school's band members.

Gosnell Band Game

Each game, the cooler is picked up at the Extension office in Osceola by a 4-Her and brought to the school, where they meet with a band representative to drop off it off for use by the band for that night’s game. The cooler and it’s provisions are sponsored by Tractor Supply in Blytheville and Farm Credit Mid-America in Osceola.

Every day, 4-H’ers across the nation pledge their hands to larger service.

The Mississippi County Community Club’s focus is participating and leading out in community service events and projects in their communities across the county. Giving your hands to larger service is when a member steps back from their own personal needs and gives to others what they can. Through the Miss Co 4-H Band Cooler project, Mississippi County 4-Hers are putting their pledge into action leading out in a positive way in their community and providing a service to members in their communities.

Get involved with Mississippi County 4-H!

As a way to get the community involved, a hashtag has been created with the #MissCo4HBandCooler tag. If you see your band getting drinks from the 4-H Band Cooler, See It, Snap It and Hashtag it for a chance to win a Fall Prize Basket put together by your Community Club!

So keep your eyes on the @MissCo4H Facebook page for where the cooler might be headed!
