Cattle conference to focus on value added marketing, young calf health and more

OZARK, Ark. — The 2020 River Valley Beef Cattle Conference will offer attendees an opportunity to brush up on several key aspects of successful beef ranching, as well as get expert insight into the new year’s market.

Gateway Cows

The conference is scheduled to be held Feb. 18 at the I-40 Livestock Auction, located at 3050 Temple Rd. in Ozark, Arkansas. Registration is held the morning of the event at 8 a.m., and costs $20, which includes a steak dinner.

The conference will feature presentations from experts with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and other cattle industry professionals.

The current conference schedule includes these presentations:

8 a.m.: Registration
9:05: Welcome
9:10: Benefits of value-added marketing and the GoGreen program
9:40: Success in young calf health
10:25: Break
10:40: Cattle market forecast
11:30: Determining the market value of your calves
12:15 p.m.: Lunch and adjourn
