BATESVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas ranchers can learn to get the most out of their pastures at Forage Forward, a workshop set for March 13 at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture’s Livestock and Forestry Station here.
There is no cost to attend the half-day afternoon-only session. For information, call the station at 870-793-7432.
“Forage is the foundation for any livestock operation. Without good forage, the cattle business can be not only frustrating, but downright profitless,” said Don Hubbell, resident director of the research station, better known as the Batesville Station. “We have experts on spray application, weed control and forage planning to help our producers get the most from their land.”
The agenda
- 1 p.m. - Sprayer Technology and Calibration – Jason Davis, extension application technologist, U of A System Division of Agriculture
- 2 p.m. - Herbicide/ weed control for 2018 – John Boyd, extension weed scientist/visiting professor, Division of Agriculture
- 3 p.m. - Planning a forage program for 2018 – John Jennings, professor-forage, for the Division of Agriculture.
