LITTLE ROCK – Two workshops are scheduled in September and October to help Arkansas small businesses compete effectively for government contracts at Little Rock Air Force Base.

The workshops being held jointly by the Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center, Small Business Administration and the Little Rock Air Force Base, who are teaming up in a way that will helpArkansassmall businesses grow and provide the needs for our national defense.

The Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center is part of the Cooperative Extension Service’s Community and Economic Development Department and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Defense Logistics Agency.

“Be sure to register early,” said Melanie Berman, director of the Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center. “The first workshop filled quickly and we had to set up a waiting list.”

The workshops are all scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the air base’s University Education Center, outside the front gate at 1490 Vandenberg Blvd., in Jacksonville. The 2018 schedule so far:

  • Sept. 26 – Preparing your bid. What works and what’s required.
  • Oct. 17 – You’ve won the contract. Now what? Following through on contract performance.

The Cooperative Extension Service is part of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
