FORDYCE, Ark — Cat and dog owners will have the opportunity to have their pets vaccinated against rabies at a series of locations throughout Dallas County on April 9.

The clinic is sponsored by the Dallas County 4-H program and the Fordyce Animal Clinic. The vaccinations are for cats and dogs only, and will cost $8 per animal.

Keith Gresham, Dallas County Cooperative Extension Service staff chair, said the Rabies Clinic is an annual event that Extension provides to the citizens of Dallas County and surrounding areas.

“With the increase in the cases of rabies in Arkansas it is very important that people have their cats and dogs vaccinated,” Gresham said.

Dr. Scott Campbell with the Fordyce Animal Clinic will be administering the vaccinations on a county wide event on April 9, 2016.  We will travel to 8 locations in the county to make it easier for everyone to attend.

The scheduled clinic stops are:

  • 8:00 a.m.: Holly Springs Baptist Church
  • 9:30 a.m.: Sparkman City Hall
  • 10:30 a.m.: Dalark United Methodist Church
  • 11:00 a.m.: Manning Baptist Church
  • 12:00 p.m.: Princeton Community Center
  • 1:00 p.m.: Tulip Fire Station
  • 2:00 p.m.: Carthage City Hall
  • 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.: Fordyce Farmers’ Market lot, next to the Dallas County Courthouse

Gresham said times are approximate, and may be adjusted, depending on demand at various locations.
