LITTLE ROCK  -- University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture experts will be delivering four additional decision aid workshops, as well as an additional online webinar, for the 2014 Farm Bill over the next two weeks.

Scott Stiles, an economist with the Division of Agriculture, will be leading the in-person workshops in Jonesboro, Forrest City and Wynne.

“These are hands-on training sessions that would be applicable for farm managers, bankers, accountants, attorneys, insurance agents, farmers, and landlords,” Stiles said. “The 2014 Farm Bill Commodity provisions are complex and attendees will learn how to use the Texas A&M Computer Decision Aid-a decision tool endorsed by U.S. Department of Agriculture.”

Stiles said attendees will gain a much better understanding of the complex decisions related to updated yields, reallocating base acreage, and Agricultural Risk Coverage, including individual (ARC-I) and county (ARC-CO) variants, as well as Price Loss Coverage and the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO).
