State Water Plan regional workgroup meeting set for March 17 in Stuttgart
LITTLE ROCK -- A regional planning workgroup meeting for the State Water Plan is set for March 17 at the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart.
“This meeting will focus on irrigation and is an optional educational session on water management, conservation practices, funding and federal and state conservation incentive programs,” said Mike Daniels, professor and extension water quality and nutrient management expert with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
The center is located at 2709 Highway 165 South in Stuttgart. The workshop runs from 10 a.m.-12:15 with a lunch provided. Attendees should register with Sherry Pfaffenberger, 870-946-3331 or Sherry.Pfaffenberger@ar.nacdnet.net by March 14 to reserve a lunch.
The meeting is sponsored by the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts, Natural Resources Conservation Service and Arkansas Natural Resources Commission.
Topics include “Need for Accurate Water Use Accounting,” “Water and Energy Savings in Irrigation Water Management and water management in rice, soybean, cotton and corn production and a session on federal and state conservation incentives.
