Tickets now available online for Arkansas Flower & Garden Show

LITTLE ROCK – Former Governor’s Mansion Executive Chef Don Bingham, and landscape designer and author C. Colston Burrell, are among the keynoters for the 2014 Arkansas Flower and Garden Show set for Feb. 21-23 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

In keeping with this year’s “That’s Entertainment” theme, Chef Bingham will offer recipes and decorating ideas on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2:15 p.m., with his talk, “Outdoor Arkansas Party Time!”

Janet Carson, author, newspaper columnist and extension horticulture specialist for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, speaks at 1 p.m. Saturday about “Ornamental Edibles/Edible Ornamentals.”

Friday morning’s lineup includes back-to-back Burrell presentations at 10:30 and 11:45 a.m.: “Finishing Touches: Details in Garden Design” and “The Art of Perennial Combination.” Dustan Clark, extension veterinarian, will speak at 3:30 p.m. about " Backyard Poultry: From Community Zoning to Your Breakfast Omelet.”

Show times are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets to the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors ages 60 and older. Children 16 and younger are free. Three-day passes to the show are $12. Parking is free at Dickey-Stephens Park, and attendees can walk over, or for $1, ride the shuttle round-trip. Arkansas Destinations, a sponsor of this year’s show, is providing the shuttle service.

Proceeds from the Arkansas Flower and Garden Show provide educational scholarships in horticulture-related fields to students in Arkansas colleges and universities and funds for the Greening of Arkansas Mini-Grant Program.

The show is produced in partnership by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation, Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs, Arkansas Florists Association, Arkansas Green Industry Association and Arkansas Master Gardeners.
