4-H Clubs Seek New Members
The Garland County 4-H Clubs are seeking new members.HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Garland County 4-H Clubs are seeking new members. The purpose of these clubs is to give the youth of Garland County ages 5 to 19 an opportunity to participate in youth development educational programs of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.
Youth members in 4-H clubs will learn life service projects and have an opportunity to compete in a number of competitive activities throughout the year, attend camps and earn scholarships for education. The following is a list of the current Garland County 4-H Clubs and the location and times they meet:
Clever Clovers is re-organizing in the Hot Springs area with Annette Walters as leader;
Cool Clovers meet the 3rd Monday at Centerfork Baptist Church in the Lake Hamilton area with leader Lisa Driggers;
Country Clovers meet at the Pleasant Hills Baptist Church on Standpipe Road with leader
Amber Wheeler;
Creative Clovers meet the 2nd Friday and is a home school group (please call for meeting location)Tonya Reck as
the leader;
Fountain Lake 4-H has meetings the 3rd Thursday at Community Baptist Church in the Fountain Lake/Jessieville area, with
leader Mandy Ault;
Garland Gunners meet on the 1st Sunday at Christian Ministries Church and emphasizes Shooting Sports, Leader David
Taylor;
Garland County Veterinary Science – Meets at the Extension Office, Leader Linda Bates
(call for details);
**Teen Leaders meet the last Monday at the Extension Office, Linda Bates is the leader.
A new club is also organizing in the Mountain Pine Community. Details will be available
very soon!
**Note: To be in the Teen Leaders Club you must be at least 13 years of age or older. Membership in the 4H clubs and their programs is available to all youth between the ages of 5 and 19 regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, marital or veteran status, or any other legally protected status. Master Gardener Information
Master Gardener meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Elks Lodge. They’re open to the public and guests are always welcome. For more information call the Extension Office at 623-6841 or email Allen Bates at abates@uada.edu.
