C.E.S.P. 8-30: Retirement Receptions
Date Revised: 7-18-2013
Supersedes: 2-2-2009
Summary: Establishes a policy for plaques, receptions, and in lieu of a reception for all Extension employees.
Plaque - Each retiree may be presented a plaque to commemorate his/her years of service to the organization. The cost of the plaque will be paid by Extension indirect funds from the employee’s unit budget. The unit should contact the Communications Department to arrange for having the plaque made.
Reception - A retirement reception will be held at the discretion of the retiree. If a reception is desired, the retiree’s unit will be responsible for all planning and hosting of the reception.
Up to $100 of the cost of the reception may be reimbursed. Contact the Office of the Associate Vice President for approval and reimbursement instructions.
In lieu of a reception – If desired by the retiree, as an alternative to a reception, the retiree may have a lunch or dinner with his/her co-workers and family. Again, up to $100 of the lunch or dinner expense may be reimbursed. Contact the Office of the Associate Vice President for approval and reimbursement instructions.
NOTE: If the retiree does not desire a reception, lunch or dinner, the $100 may not be paid to the retiree.
