Mediterranean Diet, the Gold Standard of Lifelong Good Health

The Mediterranean diet is a lifestyle approach to healthy eating that includes a balanced variety of foods and daily exercise. the diet is based on the foods and drinks traditionally consumed by people living in countries along the Mediterranean Sea. the Mediterranean diet includes an abundance of seasonally fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes and nuts, whole grains, and fish, with small amounts of poultry and meats.

 Quinoa, A Grain Everyone Should Try

On the shelves of the supermarket you may have seen an odd looking grain with a funny name. Chances are you've seen a box of Quinoa, pronounced KEEN-wah. It is not a common grain that you will find in most kitchens today, but maybe it should be. Qukinoa has been hailed as the "super grain of the future" because it contains more protein than any other grain. It's called a complete protein because it contains all eight essential amino acids.

Chances are that you know someone who has been diagnosed with diabetes. (19.1) million people or 9.3 percent of the population in the U.S. have diabetes. Of those, 21 million people have been diagnosed, while 8.1 million people or 27.8 percent of the population are undiagnosed.
