Howard County Resident Competes in Annual Sew with Cotton Contest!
Nashville, Ark. – Jeanette McConnell of Umpire competed in the recent statewide Sew with Cotton contest held, December 1 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Jeanette placed second in the Wall Hanging/Quilt category.
The Sew with Cotton contest requires participants to construct an item (quilt or outfit) using 100% cotton fabric. They utilize their sewing skills to design and create a one-of-a-kind design.
Jeanette is a member of the Uncommon Threads EHC club in Nashville. The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in learning more about Sew With Cotton on Extension Homemakers, contact the Howard County Extension office at 870-845-7517. The contest is sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau. The local contest is sponsored by Howard County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture.
