Celebrating 100 Years - Centennial Resources
For Extension, it’s the event of the century – the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, the law that created a national agricultural extension service. Throughout 2014, we will commemorate the law signed by President Woodrow Wilson.
We hope that this commemoration will provide you with a new reason to engage people about extension and help our neighbors understand who we are and what we do. It’s also an opportunity to learn more about the organization we work for and how the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service was a critical force in helping rural Arkansas make the transition from draft animals to mechanization, from kerosene lamps to electric lighting and from illness to immunizations.
The following are a list of resources to help you celebrate 100 years of extension. If you have any questions, feel free to call Mary Hightower in the communications department at 501-671-2126 or email at mhightower@uada.edu.
