Arkansas PTAC Success Story Jacobs Cleaning
by Kim Magee - September 27, 2019
Tiffany and Ryan Dickerson own Jacob’s Cleaning, LLC in Benton. Jacob’s Cleaning primarily
offers commercial cleaning services and has been in business for five years. Before
branching out on their own to provide services to MEMS Ambulance Service, the Dickersons
worked as subcontractors for an international maintenance company.
The janitorial service sector is a highly competitive market as there are many businesses
in the field who are vying for the same customers. The Dickersons were looking for
a way to overcome that issue when they heard about the services offered by Arkansas
PTAC from the owner of a fellow janitorial service who was already a PTAC client.
The Dickersons became clients in May 2019.
After being clients for only two months, Jacob’s Cleaning was awarded their first
government contract. The contract involves providing janitorial services for a Little
Rock community center. The five-day-a-week work for the contract commenced in August.
Ryan Dickerson identified the bid solicitation using search tools shared by PTAC staff.
He found the bidding process easier than he expected and encourages other businesses
to explore government contracting. The Dickersons are currently looking to expand
their service offerings as well as expanding the coverage area where they offer their
services. They are now talking with a bank in Northeast Arkansas about their services.
The Dickersons credit Arkansas PTAC staff with sharing training resources that helped
build their confidence in the process of their bid.
“They took an overwhelming amount of information and broke it down with specific action
steps,” Ryan Dickerson said. “With all of the resources and research available at
the PTAC, any small business would be crazy not to use them.”
