What is a PTAC?

by Alyssa Huber - October 24, 2018

We receive questions about our program and how we are funded all the time.

The Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center is your Arkansas PTAC. A PTAC is a Procurement Technical Assistance Center. Your Arkansas PTAC is funded through a cost-sharing cooperative agreement between the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the University Of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. All client services we provide are at no cost to you!

PTACs are the bridge between buyer and supplier, bringing their knowledge of both government contracting and the capabilities of contractors. Under the program, Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) help businesses pursue and perform under contracts with the Department of Defense, other federal agencies, state and local governments, and with government prime contractors.

We also help businesses complete their System for Award Management (SAM) registration, identify contract opportunities, help them understand contract requirements, and help them prepare and submit bids - all for free!

The PTACs have a local presence in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Guam, totaling 94 centers. PTACs come in many different sizes and shapes, reflecting the needs, priorities and resources of the areas they serve.

If you have a friend or another company in a different state, you can find that PTAC here, and take advantage of the same benefits your Arkansas PTAC provides.

For further information about the services we provide, call us at 501-671-2390.
