Coming Up this Summer: Free Property Assessment Webinar Series
Property taxes are an important part of revenue for local governments in Arkansas, providing funding for schools, roads, public safety, and other important local services. The amount of property taxes each household is required to pay is determined by two components: 1) the millage or property tax rates approved for school districts, counties, cities, special districts and community colleges and 2) the assessed value of the property being taxed.
During the summer of 2018, our new Property Assessment Webinar Series can help government officials, local leaders, and the public better understand the procedures and methods for assessing different types of property, the legal limits of annual assessment increases, and how to challenge assessments of property.
In collaboration with the Arkansas Assessment Coordination Department and the Tax Division of the Arkansas Public service, the Extension Service’s Community & Economic Development Unit will air the first short webinar of this six part series on Friday, June 22 at 8:30 AM.

The webinar series is being aired on Zoom, providing a convenient, free option to help you understand how property is assessed without leaving the comfort of your home or office.
