Importance of Reporting Your Awards
by Debra Garcia - August 29, 2018
When you become a client of your local Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC),
one of the things you agree to do is to report all the government contracts you are
awarded. There are several reasons why reporting is so important.
- Assist with your record keeping:
Reporting the contracts you have won to your local PTAC ensures you will always have
a handy list of those government contracts. The PTAC will always keep that information
and you will have it available to you for years to come.
- Keeping your local PTAC Funded:
Reporting your winning contracts allows the PTACs to show their services have successfully
assisted clients. PTACs are funded through a grant from the Defense Logistics Agency
(DLA), which is a part of the Department of Defense. Reporting your winning contracts
allows PTACs to show justification so that the PTAC program will continue.
- Sharing Small Business Success Stories with our Legislators:
Reporting your winning contracts will show Arkansas legislators how well the PTAC
is assisting local companies and communities. This will give our lawmakers important
information to use when they are fighting to secure more funding for small businesses
in order to safeguard the PTAC program.
So the next time you win a contract, remember to report it to your PTAC counselor.
It will not only help you as a business, it will also help your local PTAC continue
to be there when you need them.
You may report awards via e-mail to ptac@uada.edu or by calling your procurement counselor directly at 501-671-2390 in Little Rock or
501-650-6180 in Bentonville.
