Spring 2018 APAC Events
The Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center (APAC) has been busy participating in and planning several events this quarter with our resource partners. APAC has a great partnership with the Small Business Administration as well as their funded program offices throughout the state of Arkansas. These programs include the Arkansas Small Business Technology Development Centers (ASBTDC), SCORE, and the Women’s Business Center. APAC is working with the SBA and other resource partners over the next month to bring trainings and business development fairs to a town near you. Spring Events:
SBIR Road Tour UA Little Rock Reynolds Business Center The 2018 SBIR Road Tour is coming to Arkansas! This is a rare chance to hear details about the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs directly from agency representatives and engage in one-on-one sessions with agency program managers to gather feedback on your project ideas. The SBIR Road Tour is a national outreach effort to educate entrepreneurs on the programs that provide funding to small, advanced technology firms. Types of Solicitations and Where to Find Them APAC Procurement Counselor Max Franks will teach attendees what the government is buying, about the different solicitation types, how to interpret them and where to search to find them. Boots to Business Boots to Business (B2B) is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense's Transition Assistance Program (TAP). B2B provides participants with an overview of business ownership and is open to transitioning service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and their spouses. APAC/SBA Monthly Cohort: Sub-Contracting Opportunities Prime contracting is only part of the equation. You can grow your business and contracting acumen by subcontracting. You’ll meet one of the largest prime contractors in the state and hear directly from them how you should approach subcontracting opportunities. Government Contracting Opportunities for Manufactures and Machine Shops APAC will partner with AEDC’s Manufacturing Solutions team to teach this course. Participants will learn how to search for manufacturing contract opportunities, how to understand what the government is buying, what certifications are required to view restricted drawings, as well as basic cybersecurity protection and how to better understand digital manufacturing concepts. APAC/Forest Service Pre-Solicitation Conference This will be a pre-solicitation conference prior to the issuance of a multiple award task order contract for road construction work in the Ozark and Ouachita Forest. All interested parties should attend this FREE event. More details will be posted on FBO.gov in the coming weeks. Doing Business with the Federal Government APAC and SBA will team up to teach this monthly webinar. Doing business with the federal government can be extremely lucrative for small businesses. During this FREE webinar we will provide an overview of doing business with the federal government including 8(a), HUBZone, Women and Veteran owned certifications. We will also go over what resources are available to assist the small business owner who is interested in doing business with the government.
