SAM Registration is Free
In today’s society, it seems like everything is technology based. Along with this super-fast, super tech way of providing services and products, also comes a whole new headache that could be a major loss for a small business, called phishing. Webster’s Dictionary defines "phishing" as a scam by which an email user is duped into revealing personal or confidential information which the scammer can use illicitly. We have several businesses call that know all too well of what it means to be phished. The sad part is quite often they’ve found this out after paying several hundred dollars to a third party company claiming to be able to help them with their System for Award Management (SAM) registration. As the Arkansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center, we are here to help you not only renew or register in SAM, we also can help you navigate through all of the government sites you will need to be familiar with while dealing with government contracts/grants. These sites are very beneficial to the government contracting process, as long as you are on the correct site. Otherwise, you can and will be charged. Most government websites are listed as .gov or .mil. All of these are free to you, the user. The only site listed as a .com is the http://www.dnb.com. This site is also free to you if you are solely using it to be assigned a DUNS number for an entity to do business with the federal government. Getting informed about critical information like this from your local PTAC can save you a lot of time and money. So feel free to contact us at APAC@uada.edu or by phone at 501-671-2390 for all of your contracting counseling needs. Learn more about SAM here. |
